MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's Stephanie Keeley has been named the River States Conference's Faculty-Athletics Representative of the Year, the conference announced on Wednesday.
"I'm incredibly humbled to have even been nominated and (winning) was completely unexpected," Keeley said in a statement. "The student-athletes and staff at Midway have made my time as the FAR so wonderful and I am honored to have won the RSC FAR of the Year award."
Keeley, who came to Midway in 2014, has served as the school's Faculty-Athletics Representative since the start of the 2017-18 school year. She works with more than 600 student-athletes to assist them in completing their eligibility requirements, while also serving on the Eligibility and Infractions committees within the conference.
She also works as a professor within the university's equine program, teaching first-year students and management courses.
The RSC Faculty-Athletics Representative of the Year award was established in 2016-17 to recognize one FAR within the conference each year.
The FAR is a member of the faculty who works with the athletic department to certify the eligibility of student-athletes before they can represent the school in competition. The FAR cannot be a coach or administrator but is well-versed in the rules and regulations of the NAIA.
